RDT’s annual fundraising event with a twist. Join us for an entertaining process and a party that feature dances created in “record breaking” time by RDT alumni choreographers.

Pampered with dinner, desserts and a signature cocktail by the incomparable Cuisine Unlimited, the audience will be invited to award a commission for a new work by participating artists.

Afterwards, all will join performers on stage for live music and dancing with the Joe Muscolino Band in celebration of the Company’s milestone anniversary.

How It works

  1. VIP Cocktail party

    Toast to RDT's 50 years with a signature cocktail from Cuisine Unlimited. Wander around the studios to watch choreographers work. View auction items and enter initial bids.

  2. Gala Dinner

    Pamper yourself with dinner from the incomparable Cuisine Unlimited.

  3. Final Touches

    Place your final bids on auction items. Wander to studios to see choreographers put final touches on pieces.

  4. Performance

    Enter the theatre and watch all four pieces be performed. After seeing all four pieces, you will have a chance to vote with your wallet to determine which choreographer will be assigned a commission for next year. Watch each piece and vote (with your number) for your favorite. In order to vote during this time you will have to have a registered number.

  5. Dancing & Dessert

    Everyone is invited on stage for dancing with The Joe Muscolino Band and dessert from Cuisine Unlimited. Voting will continue.

    The 2016 COMMISSION will be awarded at 10:00 pm.

    Francisco Gella (1996-1998)

    Francisco Gella’s distinguished career as a professional dancer, choreographer, artistic director and dance educator in the genres of ballet, modern and contemporary dance, spans more than twenty years since he took his first formal dance class at the University of Washington during his freshman year. His award-winning innovative choreography, and highly effective inspirational teaching methods are sought after by universities, schools, and companies across North America and around the globe.

    Marina Harris

    Marina Harris has been called a “renaissance” woman and her many talents have made an impact on the community. As a choreographer, designer, writer, teacher and artistic catalyst, Marina has contributed to the life and vitality of the arts locally and nationally Marina was associated with RDT for over 25 years. She first joined the RDT family in 1976 when she became the company’s costume designer and went on to design for numerous professional companies and university departments.

    David Marchant (1989-1991)

    Marchant is currently Professor of the Practice, on the faculty of Washington University in St. Louis since 1994, specializing in contemporary dance and somatic practices. David teaches courses in dance technique, composition, improvisation, Introduction to Somatic Practices and the Alexander Technique. For over 20 years He has been a nationally and internationally recognized artist, teacher and speaker, creating and performing original dances, leading master classes and giving talks in the United States, UK, France, Sweden, Japan and China.

    Andy Noble (1998-2004)

    Andy is Co-Artistic Director of NobleMotion Dance and an Associate Chair/Professor at Sam Houston State University. He also serves as the Associate Artistic Director of the Dance Gallery Festival, an international festival that occurs every year in New York City. During the summer, Andy is a faculty member at Dance Italia in Lucca, Italy. Most notably, he worked with Academy Award winner John Ridley to create original choreography featured on the Emmy Award Winning and Golden Globe Nominated ABC TV show American Crime.


There are 2 ways to vote for your favorite choreographer:


  1. VISIT
  2. Fill out the form and select the choreographer(s) you'd like to vote for.
  3. Complete payment using credit card


  1. Register a NUMBER (at a REGISTRATION TABLE or pre-register here>>)
  2. After all choreographers have shown their work, you will be prompted to raise your number at various amounts to vote for your favorite. If you raise your number, you are committing to pay that maount.
  3. Your votes will be counted and totaled.
  4. At the end of the night, you can check out on stage or in the lobby to pay your balance right away.
  5. OR - you will be sent an invoice via email to be paid online.
