Bill Evans was a dancer and major choreographer with RDT from 1967-1974. He has had an ongoing relationship with the company for several decades and has created 18 works for RDT, served as a guest performer and teacher, and serves on the RDT national advisory board. Since leaving RDT, Bill has become an internationally known choreographer, performer, teacher, administrator, writer and movement analyst. More than 200 of Evans’ works have been performed by professional and pre-professional ballet, modern dance, and tap companies through the United States. He has served as an assistant professor of Modern Dance at the University of Utah, as a visiting professor of dance at the University of Washington, and as an associate professor of modern dance and coordinator of the Contemporary Dance Program at Indiana University. He is “Distinguished Emeritus Professor of Dance” at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, where he served as a full-time faculty member from 1988 to 2004. Since 2004, he has served on the full-time faculty of the Department of Dance at The College at Brockport, State University of New York, with the rank of Visiting Professor/Guest Artist. He currently resides in Port Townsend, WA.
