PRIME PERFORMANCE 2024

Perspectives: A Creative Aging Choreography Workshop
Saturdays, April 6-June 22, 2024
10:45 am - 12:45 pm
Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center

Building off the recent success of 2024 Regalia’s - “So You Think You Can Choreograph?” where community members took on the mantle of choreographers, we are offering a new approach to Prime Performance for Spring 2024, called PerspectivesPerspectives invites participants to create original dances that represent multiple points of view.

Take the leap, build new synapses, and jump into the creative process of dance-making! You will be rewarded in embracing the collaboration, creative problem solving, and unique expression possible in choreographic design. Through sequential workshops set up as a choreographic laboratory, participants will play with movement composition, ultimately creating an original work to be shared with friends and family through a culminating informal public performance.

Participants will work together and can choose their preferred roles as choreographer of an original work, performer in another participant's original work, or both choreographer and performer. Participants are welcome to perform in their own group work, if desired or to create and perform a solo on themselves. Casts will be configured after participants have had a chance to meet in the workshop and share initial ideas.

Join us in crafting time, space, energy, action, and body instrumentation to share your PERSPECTIVE.

This project is generously funded by the Utah Division of Arts and Museums. Funding for this project prioritizes engagement of individuals 55+ older, however any mature dance-makers interested in creative aging may register.
