Rhythm Tap Workshop with Bill Evans

Bill Evans studied tap dancing and ballet in Salt Lake City with Charles Purrington and then June Purrington Park between 1948 and 1955. He founded the Bill Evans Tap Ensemble in 1992 and he founded the New Mexico Tap Festival and Tap Dance Jam in 1999. His dance company was based at the College at Brockport, State University of New York between 2004 and 2014 but during that time he returned to Albuquerque regularly to teach and perform.
In 2004, he was selected, along with Savion Glover and Brenda Bufalino, as one of three favorite world tap dance artists in the Dance Magazine Readers' Choice Poll.
