Repertory Dance Theatre

FROM THE ARCHIVE – Meet the artists behind MIGRATIONS

Repertory Dance Theatre honors our long and meaningful artistic relationship with choreographer Zvi Gotheiner and composer Scott Killian who met in 1993, in Utah. RDT was creating an artistic initiative focusing on the unique physical attributes of the Utah/Colorado plateau to raise consciousness about the environment. Zvi was invited out to Salt Lake and taken to Bryce Canyon to find inspiration for a new commission. This project led to Erosion, the first of Zvi’s work added to RDT’s repertory, and created an artistic bond between Zvi and Scott that has been enjoyed for over 30 years.

Repertory Dance Theatre has now performed ten Gotheiner works. Seven have music created by Scott Killian. All the works have a strong connection to “place.”  RDT is deeply grateful to these two masterful artists, their artistic integrity has deepened our understanding of human relationships, communities, and the environment, and has given audiences a unique perspective of the world and of one another. Join us for the Utah Premiere of another collaboration, Migrations, Oct 2-5.
