The Crown

At 60 years, RDT is like a crown that sits atop the head of Utah’s arts community, a luminous pinnacle of artistry, athleticism, and grace.

60 Years In Motion

The RDT Archival Exhibition

We've collected six decades of history over the past 60 years, from rare performance footage to original costumes, from photographs of dancers who launched their careers on our stages to program notes documenting hundreds of premieres. Most of this archive has never been seen by the public.

"After a lifetime career in engineering, my world was defined by straight walls and calculated decisions. RDT challenged my paradigm. By joining the RDT classes, attending the performances and meeting the amazing people, I danced beyond those straight walls and found the courage to join a world where numbers are used for counting music instead of solving equations; and where the “right” answer is not a calculation but what the dance means to each person. My life has become more joyful with RDT!"

Expanding Access Through Innovation: We saw attendance at RDT’s Dance Center on Broadway grow by 26% last year – help us continue increase participation and reach new individuals around the Salt Lake valley. We are proud to say that we served 79,722 individuals last year, across all our mission-driven programs. Your donations helps RDT serve the entire Wasatch Front with the transformative power of dance.

Investing in Utah’s Students With your support, we’ll sustain and grow our Arts-in-Education programs that reached more than 60,000 students and teachers last year, providing critical creative learning experiences to 138 schools across 17 districts, with every dollar directly funding in-classroom dance education and our free Dance to Learn digital resources.

Celebrating Six Decades of Excellence Your contribution to RDT’s Diamond Circle will help us present three more home season performances including ANTHOLOGY this April 2026 and support the company as we mount the ‘60 Years in Motion‘ archival exhibit.

Securing Artistic Leadership Transition Your investment ensures seamless continuity as we complete our carefully orchestrated succession plan, providing Nicholas Cendese and Lynne Larson with the resources they need as new Co-Directors to maintain our collection of 480+ masterworks while commissioning bold new voices for Utah’s cultural future.

Building Sustainable Community Programs Every dollar you contribute helps us maintain our commitment to serving all ages and abilities—from our Prime Movement classes engaging dancers over 40, to Ring Around the Rose performances that grew 9% this year, to Music in Motion Creative Aging programs now offered in seven Wasatch Front locations—ensuring that RDT can offer meaningful and impactful arts experiences for all ages.
