Repertory Dance Theatre

RDT honors two outstanding performers who will end their tenure as performers with the company at the end of this season- Lauren Curley and Elle Johansen.

We will always be grateful for their artistry and for the many ways they contributed to the success of RDT.

Lauren Curley has danced with RDT from 2014-2023

She received her BFA in Dance Performance from the University of Hartford’s The Hartt School, graduating Summa Cum Laude then joined RDT in 2014.

Audiences will remember Lauren’s featured work in Dabke by Zvi Gotheiner, By The Snake by Noa Zuk and Ohad Fishof, Mazurkas by José Limón, Rainbow Round My Shoulder by Donald McKayle, Passacaglia and Fugue in C minor and Invention by Doris Humphrey, Something About Night by Lar Lubovitch.

RDT will always be grateful for Lauren’s excellent work as RDT’s Rehearsal Director, Company teacher, and her skill creating and organizing the video curriculum for the AIE website Dance To Learn.

Elle Johansen has danced with RDT from 2017-2023

Elle Johansen, originally from Salt Lake City Utah, began her dance training at the age of 9 with the Janet Gray School and received her BFA in Modern Dance from the University of Utah in 2015 where she was awarded both “The Outstanding Senior Award” and “The Student Service Award.”

Elle was initially a guest dancer with RDT in 2015 and officially joined the company in 2017.

Audiences will remember Elle’s featured work in Say Their Names by Natosha Washington, Spanish Dance by Daniel Nagrin, Mazurkas by José Limón , Invention by Doris Humphrey,  North Star by Lar Lubovitch, Remote by Marina Harris

RDT will always be grateful for Elle’s work as Director of RDT’s Dance Center on Broadway, Company Class Manager, Costume Archivist, and her outstanding work as a master teacher for the Artist-In-The- Schools POPS program.
