Repertory Dance Theatre morns the passing of Joan Woodbury, a monumental figure in establishing Utah as a prominent center of dance in the country.

We join the thousands of students, teachers, performers and audience members who are forever grateful for Joan’s vision and her dedication to the arts, including as an artistic advisor at the founding of Repertory Dance Theatre in 1966.

Her astute knowledge and passionate belief in the power of dance has influenced countless individuals who will remember the quality of Joan’s inspiring classes and choreography, her pedagogy, and performance.

Few people have attained such a long and respected role in our arts community.

We are profoundly grateful for her artistic legacy.
