Since 1966, RDT has worked under a very basic assumption: that dance is fundamental to how we experience the world. Regardless of race, income, status, age, or location, dance and artistic expression are vital human tools that connect, support, and heal. RDT is committed to enriching the lives of Utahns as we all recover from an unparalleled global crisis.
For our 55th Emerald Anniversary, RDT continues to present the best our art form has to offer from over 120 years of dance history. RDT is still a revolutionary institution of modern dance dedicated, more than ever, to building our community, to adding meaning to our lives, and to helping us heal.
Like everyone, we continue to discover what the world will look like as a new normal takes hold. As always, we will be resilient and resourceful, flexible and determined. No matter what, the show must go on – and go on it will! This season RDT is dedicated to creating new and innovative ways for us to dance together. Dance is Essential — Dance We Must!
We will continue to monitor the situation and remain flexible, so dates and shows are subject to change.
Repertory Dance Theatre dedicates our 55th Emerald Season to Kay Clark. Kay Clark was one of the founding members of Repertory Dance Theatre. As an impeccable dancer, teacher, choreographer, and director, Kay helped create an organization that became acclaimed nationally and internationally and developed into a resource center for contemporary dancers, choreographers, visual artists, writers, and composers. As the Co-Artistic Director of RDT from 1976-1983, Kay's dedication to dance, her strong work ethic, organizational skills, and enormous talent left a legacy that continues to inspire the RDT organization.
Thanks to our community partners, RDT is proud to offer all tickets for our Emerald season at 50% off so that ANYONE—regardless of circumstance—can enjoy world-class art and dance in Utah.
Outstanding partners like these are committed to helping Utah recover from COVID-19 and agree that art, dance, and movement are essential to helping us heal, recover, and discover what our new normal will look like.
